Weave a beautiful, useful basket with leather handles that has a 12 x 16” base, and is about 12” tall. Perfect for blankets, toys, projects, books, etc. This project is suitable for anyone with prior basket weaving experience – not appropriate for first time weavers.
Supply List:
Please note: it is not necessary to purchase a lot of materials before class. Most of these items are found at home.
- 2.5-gallon (10 qt.) bucket or 5-gallon bucket
- Small spray bottle
- 2 old towels, bath size or smaller
- Utility scissors or gardening shears
- Tape measure/ruler
- Pencil
- 3-5 bags of dried beans or corn hole bags, heavy weights or a “spoke
weight” to hold your base in place at the beginning.
- Clothespins
- A blunt awl or stubby type (short) flat head screwdriver
- 10-12 Heavy Duty clamps or 4” zip ties
I will have Weave Rite heavy duty awls and clamps available for purchase if participants would like to try them first.
Bring a lunch and drinks. We work through lunch so everyone
will leave with a completed basket.
